Bilaka – Basque country

Speciality

Bilaka is the hub of choreographic production in the Basque Country.
A collective in Bayonne that welcomes and brings together dancers and musicians to research and preserve the intangible heritage of the Basque Country, from its most popular roots to its most avant-garde expression.

These specialists in traditional Basque dance and music will be present at the
Gran Bal Trad 2023 to offer you stages and concerts focused on traditional Basque dance, with a huge repertoire resulting from a focused work.
These musicians have ventured to the origins of traditional culture supported by different artistic influences : the result is a rhythmic dance with music of yesterday, today and certainly tomorrow.
5 musicians, singers and dancers, since childhood madly in love with music, dance and all the evolutions they can and must have.
5 artists, each with a suitcase full of experiences (concerts, festivals, stages..)
and projects (theater, musicals..) eclectic and different.
Bilaka is the pleasure of sharing their cultures through new encounters… it is the
desire to discover new places and make new acquaintances through dance… the
desire to express an unstoppable universal energy through a Basque culture
with an international accent.
