It has been fifty years since the formation of the Baron-Anneix duo, playing biniou and bombard. Throughout the year 2023, they celebrated their “golden wedding anniversary.”

In 1975, they were crowned Champions of Brittany for the first time (many other titles would follow: 5 titles of Champion of Brittany, 25 first prizes in various competitions, 2-time winners of the Matilin An Dall award at the Interceltic Festival of Lorient). They contributed to the revival of fest-noz and Breton dances with 2820 performances in fest-noz, concerts, and animations.

They took part in the adventure of the Gwenva Ensemble and the La Godinette group, as well as in musical creations such as “Mémoires Imaginaires,” “Sainte-Folie Gallèse,” “Les Chemins de l’Atlantique,” or “Le Canal de Nantes à Brest.” In addition to Brittany and France, their music has resonated regularly in every corner of the globe (81 foreign tours: India, Canada, United States, Morocco, Czech Republic, Romania, Poland, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, England, Russia (Siberia), Ivory Coast…) and has given them the image of ambassadors of Breton music.

As valuable guardians of Breton culture, they have not hesitated to instill their knowledge through concerts, workshops, educational activities, and more. The realization of a significant discography (26 records and CDs, 36 participations and compilations, publication of a collection of Breton music with over a hundred pieces), regularly praised by critics, marks an exemplary musical journey. Throughout their careers, they have constantly explored the multiple possibilities of their instruments in various artistic forms, thereby affirming the universality of traditional Breton music.
